New Chanel Specs

Sunday, 26 July 2015

New glasses are always a reason to get excited, and when they're also Chanel that's even more cause for celebration.

Having been solidly etched into my late 20s, my eyesight has started to get a little worse. I blame age and years of working in front of a computer screen.
Either way, glasses have started to become a staple part of my working life - and a driving essential.

Wearing glasses is pretty darn good. It's just another way to add fun accessories to my wardrobe. I'm no one look pony, I like to have a few pairs to play around with. Well, why ever not? You wouldn't wear the same shoes everyday would you?

From rimless to neon yellow frames, I love to have a mix to match my mood and outfit.

My latest addition to my collection is this rather lovely pair of Chanel glasses from Pret A Voir which is one of the best places to buy designer glasses online.

They have an incredible collection of shades and specs - for him and her. From Chanel to Tom Ford, if it's worth having they have it.

What I also like about this online glasses shop is the price. You can often find some great frames (and lenses too) for a lot better value than you would on the high street.

I bought these fab Chanel frames (Style: 3315 1520 Beige) with prescription lenses for under £200! What is also great is the speed at which they were delivered. I had them on my desk at work within 48 hours of ordering - result. I'd highly recommend shopping there to anyone.

I love these frames as they are chunky and big, but nude and not face-engulfing. The perfect balance of on trend elegance.

Fashion // Antonio Berardi LFW SS14

Tuesday, 19 November 2013

I always love to browse the pictures from LFW in the hope of discovering something wonderful. This year there were so many lovely collections, and none more so than Antonio Berardi's SS14 collection.

Antonia Berardi's collection was beautifully elegant. A feminine mix of pinks and floating fabrics were combined with animal prints and sparkling embellishments.  His collection oozed femininity but also had a strong sense of sensuality. He has managed to perfectly capture the essence of flirtation within his beautiful creations.

This has to be one of my favorite collections I've seen in a long long time. I feel inspired to make a pink themed wish list, watch this space..

Here are a few of my favorite pieces, photo credit to (one of the best places to see the shows collections).

Event // Dipped in Diamonds Launch Party

Monday, 2 September 2013

Contributing to Total Swindon definitely has it's perks. Last week I was kindly invited to the launch party of the new designer fashion boutique Dipped in Diamonds.

Dipped in Diamonds is a bespoke dress boutique that has newly launched in Swindon. The boutique specialises in diamantes and glitz, all the designs are custom made and lovingly hand crafted by the very talented Candice Wilmore. The boutique produces exclusive one-off creations designed especially for you following a personal consultation with the lady Candice herself.

The evening was fantastic. We were greeted with bubbly and smiles (the perfect combo), followed by a series of mini cat walks where the boutique showcased some of it's amazing creations. It was clear to see hours, and hours, of hard work and love had gone into each and every feather and frill.

Candice wore a stunning pink flamenco style dress to present the evening, and amazed us all when she closed the event in one of her bespoke weddings dress. Anyways, enough of my ramblings, here are the pictures..

Fashion // Dresses, Darling.

Friday, 16 August 2013

As a blogger I often get sent press releases featuring new season collections or new brands. I don't normally share a lot of what I get sent - however I felt this was so lovely I wanted to share it with you.

A couple of weeks ago I had an email from a company called Darling. This wasn't a company I was too familiar with - if at all if i'm to be honest - but their images really caught my eye.

Darling's website is full of gorgeous feminine clothing - featuring some beautiful prints and stunning silhouettes. They actually sent me their A/W look book, (which I will share with you soon), but, after nosing through the site, I fell in love with these gorgeous floral prints and summer dresses from the current range. I love nothing better than a summer dress or floral pattern - and these ticked far to many boxes. It's my birthday next month, by the way..

If you love these dresses as much as I did, I'm sure you'll love the rest of their collections.

Your Shoes Will Guide You..

Saturday, 9 March 2013

It's been almost 6 months since I left Korea now, but It feels like a life time ago. Someday's I miss it more than others. There is, however, one thing I miss everyday - the good friends I made.

The Korean co-teachers I was lucky enough to work with will always be held fondly in my mind. Their kindness and generosity was second to none. Moving five and a half thousand miles away would have been a lot harder, and lonelier, without their support and friendship.

On leaving Korea I was overwhelmed with well wishes and gifts.

My wonderful co-teacher Joanne treated me to a manicure; regrettably I can't fine the picture I took. I opted for fuchsia pink tips that faded softly down my nails - with, of course, some sparkle.

I have already blogged about the Union Jack bracelet the lovely Tina made for me, and have been meaning to blog about these since then..

The lovely Julia, Rebecca, and Jessie treated me to a gorgeous pair of red shoes.

I thought their words would be the perfect way to end this post. To give an insight into the kindness of these wonderful friends I have left behind...

'...First of all, we wish you good luck. In Korea, people believe nice shoes will guide someone in a good way! Wherever you're headed, you will have a great future..."

Thursday, 7 March 2013

I go through a t-shirt overhaul twice yearly. A white t-shirt is undoubtedly one of the most wearable items of clothing. As I wasn't short changed in the chest department, t-shirts are great as they tend to fit better than shirts.

I have spent countless hours trying on white shirts - and these hours were generally followed by hours of grumping and complaining. I am yet to find a good white shirt that doesn't gape across the bust or hang like a tent. Seriously, any help here would be great, I can't be the only one??

So, I've half given up trying to get a white shirt and have been sticking to t-shirts. My wardrobe essential is a clean-cut smart white, or cream, t-shirt. I find them so versatile. I like to tuck them into cute skirts or chuck them on with some skinny jeans. I love them. You can wear a sparkly, or loud printed, skirt or trousers and, by adding a simple t-shirt, you can dress it down. Thus making sequins skirts an acceptable day outfit - although I have yet to convinced the boyfriend on this matter.

Whist hunting through my local H&M I happened upon these two cute t-shirts (sorry about the bad pics). You can buy them online here. They are clean cut, and have a feminine yet simple silhouette. They have a smarter, more tailored, edge with their sheer top and zipped back. They are loose fitting and very soft. Perfect to dress up or down.

I bought a cream one and a soft pink one. I'm sure I will end up buying another one in another colour - i'm a complete sucker for that (and I was eyeing up the electric blue one). Mind you, at £7.99 a pop, I say fill your boots! Although, if you are like me, you'll probably end up buying a new pair of boots to fill, which I must confess I did.. post to come soon.

Emilia Wickstead

Tuesday, 19 February 2013

As you all know London Fashion Week is in full swing. I have been following the shows via There have been some fantastic pieces from the usual big named designers - but the collection from Emilia Wickstead really caught my eye.

Emilia Wickstead is not a designer that I am too familiar with, but her elegant take on plaids and checks mixed with rich blues and soft pinks really caught my eye. There seems to be an element of classic style with a modern twist - yet still retaining a strong feminine influence.

There was a mix of bight inviting colours with more traditional florals, soft pinks, and earth tones.

Here are a few pictures from if you visit the site you can see the whole collection.

The V&A - Ballgowns: British Glamour Since 1950

Sunday, 6 January 2013

Yesterday I spent a wonderful day out, with my Mother, at my favourite London haunt
- the Victoria and Albert Museum.

The museum's fashion section boasts a splendid collection of clothing and footwear.
We decided to visit the Ballgowns: British glamour since 1950 exhibition before it ended on the 6th of Jan.

The exhibition was brilliant. I haven't been to the museum since they re-launched the fashion rooms - but they looked fantastic.

The exhibition contained some amazing iconic dresses; including a beautifully embellished Norman Hartnell dress worn by the Queen Mother, and the famous Catherine Walker pearl dress worn by Princess Diana. The collection included dresses from the 1950's up to modern day red-carpet numbers.

One of the most breathtaking dresses in the exhibition was by Alexander McQueen. The lilac-grey duck and ostrich feather dress, from the S/S 2011 collection, was simply stunning.

The exhibition was only on for a limited time. But never fear -if you missed it there is always the Fashion Rooms which are equally wonderful and open all year round.

Unfortunately you aren't allowed to take pictures in the ticketed exhibitions (the one above is a press image) - but you can in Fashion Room.

So, here are my favourite pieces from the Fashion Room at the V&A.

A 1930's Wool Jersey Bikini.

A 1930's Machine Knitted Swim Suit.

A 1930's Linen Beach Trouser Suit.

1950's Dior Fan, Shoe and Bodice.

1880's Jacket - Silk Voided Velvet Trimmed with Arctic Fox Fur and Chenille Fringe.

1940's Utility Shoes.

A 1760/70's Silk Damask Dress.

1770's Silk and Leather Shoes and Buckle.
